The Artist's Table
Collection

Avant Garde. Bold. Painterly.

Layer upon layer of paint flecks & splatters, block prints & brush strokes absorbed by the drop cloth at the artist's printing table: plain silk is turned into a canvas through these chance expressions & bold accidents.

In collaboration with young, Kolkata-based textile artist Aparupa, The Artist’s Table is an experimentation in surface design: over weeks & months, colours & textures seep down from her regular textile work onto the drop cloth, the humble fabric protecting her table, building layers of painterly abstraction.

The riot of colour is elevated through our unusual & deliberate use of silk crepe; the fabric drapes effortlessly, ebbing & flowing with each sashay & gesture of the body. These pieces encourage the avant-garde in you; dressing - like life - is enriched through experimentation & influenced by the chance coincidences of each moment.

The Artist’s Table gives you saturated & energetic pieces of art, center weights to be worn alone or over a billowing linen pant or loose jean. The silhouettes are oversized, structural & boxy with subtle feminine touches - side slits, dramatic v-necks & wide scooped necklines. Stitched by brothers Parvez & Lal in Delhi.
